In early 1975, Judge David Gertler and his son, Mike Gertler, founded the law firm of Gertler & Gertler.

Louis Gertler joined the law firm in the 1990′s and Josh Gertler joined in 2010.

Today, the Gertler Law Firm is a prominent New Orleans law firm in the field of personal injury.

The firm prosecuted some of the first asbestos injury lawsuits in the state of Louisiana, including mesothelioma and asbestosis claims.

This firm was also a lead firm in a group of distinguished Louisiana law firms that obtained a record judgement against the tobacco industry. The tobacco companies were ordered to establish a $241 million cessation program for the citizens of Louisiana.
